Master of Theology (MTh)
Theological Education for an Economy of Life (TEEL)

Union Theological Seminary, Philippines – in partnership with the Council for World Mission (CWM)

An Ecumenical Vision
The Council for World Mission (CWM) has launched the groundbreaking Theological Education for an
Economy of Life (TEEL) curriculum—crafted by a global team of scholars from Africa, Asia, Europe, the USA, and the Caribbean.

For its pilot implementation, CWM partners with Union Theological Seminary (UTS), Philippines, offering a fully online Master of Theology (MTh) degree. This program is rooted in the New International Financial and Economic Architecture (NIFEA) initiative, born from the historic São Paulo Ecumenical Conference (2012), where churches worldwide called for a shift from exploitative systems of death to an Economy of Life

Program Aim
The TEEL curriculum equips students to:

  1. Discern the Signs of the Times – critically analyze global economic and social systems.
  2. Explore Alternatives to the Economy of Death – engage transformative theological visions.
  3. Rise to Life – embody and live out the promise of a new heaven and new earth.
This is not just education—it is formation for prophetic leadership in church, academy, and society.
